Keep Your Circle Small And Your Mind At Peace. ✌🏻

I’ve been thinking a lot about friends and friendships lately. As I approached 40 last year, I had a big change in perspective on relationships. It was like I had a sudden realization, and I looked at things differently. I think it’s because when I hit 40, life just felt so real. Like damn, I’ve been doing this thing for 40 years now! That’s a long time. But you quickly realize how fast that time went by. And who you spent that time with, becomes so important. Well, it was for me at least.

I started paying more attention to who and what I shared my spirit with. Because, you know, that’s what relationships are all about, right? You’re letting someone into your world, giving up a little bit of yourself with every conversation and moment you spend with them. And those relationships can either take from you, leaving you feeling empty and drained, or they can give back, filling the holes and making you feel whole again. It’s a give and take, a sharing of essences.

I’ve been doing a lot of introspection lately, thinking about the people I’ve shared my life with and what I’ve given them. I’ve also been reflecting on who I’ve let into my heart, shared my energy with, and what I’ve allowed people to take from me. One thing that really hit me was that I shared too much, with too many people. I think I’m finally starting to understand the importance of silence, privacy, and the peace that comes from knowing that I can surround myself with people who truly care about me and support me through thick and thin.

So let this be your reminder, no matter your age, that time is a precious gift that slips away quickly. Take a moment to think about who you spend your time with. Do they uplift and inspire you, or do they drain your energy? Do they take advantage of your kindness and generosity, or do they reciprocate in kind? It’s important to keep your circle small and surround yourself with people who bring you joy and peace. Remember, your well-being matters, and it’s okay to prioritize your own happiness and fulfillment above all else. ❤️
